Jay Novacek

Best known for his 11 seasons in the NFL, Jay Novacek recorded 422 receptions for 4,620 yards and 30 touchdowns. A key contributor for the Dallas Cowboys in the early 1990's, Novacek was played an important role in the Cowboy's offense, playing 3 Super Bowl wins where he recorded a combined total of 17 receptions for 148 yards and 2 touchdowns. But he excelled athletically before the NFL.
In addition to football, Novacek competed in track and field for the his alma mater, the Wyoming Cowboys. He won the WAC decathlon championship and placed fourth in the NCAA championships, earning All-American honors in track. He set the school record for decathlon points (7,615) and in the pole vault jump (16 ft 4 in). He competed in the 1984 Olympic trials as a decathlete.
